We are often identified with Jago or La Paranza. In reality, we are La Sorte: an independent cooperative, born from collaboration but grown on its own, with its own vision.

“La Sorte” was born from an actual drawing of lots. We were looking for a shared identity, but after weeks of discussion without reaching a common choice, we decided to rely on a draw inspired by the story of the Church of Sant’Aspreno. Among the slips of paper with the different proposals, one was added at the very last moment with the words “La Sorte” on it, and that was the one that was drawn.
From that moment, an identity was born: a name that evokes destiny, possibility, and the power of opportunity. Our logo represents Tyche, the Greek goddess of fortune and protector of the city, as a symbol of care and belonging to the neighborhood.
It is a local enterprise that works to help the community grow.
A community cooperative is deeply rooted in its local area and uses its activities to create collective value, not just economic profit. La Sorte reinvests the proceeds from ticket sales and donations into the cooperative’s activities, neighborhood-based projects, operating costs, and staff.
It also connects places, culture, young people, and the residents of the Rione Sanità, turning restored spaces into hubs of community, inclusion, and participation.
Because for La Sorte, these places are not just religious or monumental spaces, but common goods returned to the neighborhood. Churches such as Sant’Aspreno and the Cristallini have been restored to become living places, capable of bringing together art, memory, community, and new job opportunities for local young people.
The core idea is to show that these spaces can once again generate beauty and a future for the people who live here.
The cooperative was created precisely to turn a training path into real work. La Sorte is designed as a social enterprise: its proceeds are reinvested in activities, staff, and local projects. It is not simply a volunteer experience, but a concrete way to create local employment.
